This week, NPR reported that more friendships than ever are being broken up over political differences. The Presidential elections are fueling the flames, driving Americans to delete and block the numbers of their nearest and dearest.
But while we continue to blame politics for our disagreements, the Black Lives Matter, Cancel America radicals who control the Democratic Party are the real ones dividing us. They push values that are inherently divisive. Their multiculturalism, so lauded by the media, is just a ploy to segregate us based on race, gender identity, and endless micro labels.
BLM Cancel America radicals talk about tolerance and peace, but their own tactics pit us against one another. They praise those who conform to their “woke” agenda, and slam those who disagree. In a Cancel America world, most white people are born racist, the criminal justice system is evil, and everyone who opposes these groups is a good person – even if they’re preventing emergency responders from saving an innocent child from a fire.
But where Cancel America seeks to divide, real American values bring us together. If we believe that America is Good, we respect the individual liberty of others, and don’t make life into a competition between sides. We can hold conversations with people about their beliefs without making assumptions about their character. Real American values are colorblind, recognizing that every individual has a choice in how they treat others. Those who believe that America is Good offer equal opportunity based on merit, not on what diversity group someone fits into.
So this election cycle, don’t buy Cancel America’s lies. Don’t push away family and friends because they don’t fit a radical “woke” agenda. Listen to their perspective and try to understand where they’re coming from. Choose real American values, and leave the Cancel America division behind.
